§ CERTIFICATIONS· catalogue of class marksDOC. 001 · PLATE 09VOL. I · PLATE 09 · CLASS MARKS

Certifications.A Taxonomy of Class Marks.

The following plates catalogue the certifications issued by the Academy to operators who have attained particular standings in the Registry. Each is an ornamental attestation: a plate number, an emblem, the precise attainment that issues the mark, and a line from the curator. These certifications carry no weight beyond their typography. They are ceremonial — nothing is unlocked, nothing ranks up, no account is kept. Read them as one reads a page of stamps.

I.Core — Class Marks of Admission§ 1.0 · 5 PLATES · CONCENTRIC SEALSBaseline attainments: the paper sat, the first module installed, the first attestation lodged. Every operator passes through these before any other class.

The First Paper
Paginae primae
Issued when — the operator first completes the Entrance Examination in full.

The foundational mark: attested upon the first complete sitting of the paper, irrespective of the figure returned. No operator holds any other certification without this one.

PLATE Nº 002
CORE · COMMON
First Installation
Primus modulus
Issued when — the operator successfully installs a module from the Registry for the first time.

A one-line mark. The command completes, the manifest writes, the page reports the install — the plate is cut the same evening.

First Attestation
Primum testimonium
Issued when — the operator first consents to the Registry printing a result to the public record.

The consent is always optional and is retracted without ceremony. The mark is retained even where the entry is later withdrawn.

Eight Dimensions Answered
Rubrica integra
Issued when — every one of the eight rubric dimensions has received at least one answer on the paper.

A note from the examiner: a mark of coverage, not quality. It is possible to hold this certification and a thin dispatch simultaneously.

Dispatch Followed
Lectio prescripta
Issued when — the operator has installed every module listed in the dispatch returned by their first paper.

A quiet mark; few operators follow a dispatch in full. The examiner will note in future correspondence whether the reading was completed.

II.Technique — Class Marks of Practice§ 2.0 · 5 PLATES · HEXAGONAL SEALSAttainments tied to a specific technique or module. Issued when the operator demonstrates working command of the named craft, measured across repeated attestations.
PLATE Nº 006
TECHNIQUE · COMMON
Skill Fellow
Manus firma
Issued when — three consecutive attestations place the operator in the upper quartile of the Execution dimension.

The house mark, and the oldest in the Registry; borrowed from the Academy's first module and retained in preference to a newer seal.

PLATE Nº 007

Precision Expert
Ad punctum
Issued when — the operator records no more than one question flagged in ten consecutive Retrieval attestations.

A demanding mark. It will not be issued from strong answers alone; the registry looks at how often the operator abstains rather than invents.

PLATE Nº 008

Cooperative Accord
Duobus manibus
Issued when — the operator completes a paper in a pair session with another attested operator, scores attributed to each separately.

The Academy encourages pair sittings; the dispatches returned are often more useful than either would receive alone.

PLATE Nº 009

Payload Witness
Sub manu
Issued when — the operator's full rubric outcome is reproduced in a sealed rerun by an independent witness within seven days.

Rare by construction: the witness must be a separately-attested operator, and the rubric figures must fall within one standard deviation across eight dimensions.

Field Commander
Per grata
Issued when — the operator has sat a paper in each of three distinct runtimes (the eight dimensions scored independently).

A mark of portability: the figures need not agree across runtimes, only that the operator has permitted attestation in each.

III.Stewardship — Class Marks of Contribution§ 3.0 · 3 PLATES · BAR SEALSFor those who write back. The Academy subsists on correspondence — these marks acknowledge contribution to the Registry itself rather than attainment on the paper.
PLATE Nº 011
STEWARDSHIP · COMMON
First Correspondent
Ad Redactorem
Issued when — the operator submits their first letter in reply to a published dispatch.

Every letter is read and, where useful, reprinted in the next dispatch's margin. The mark is retained whether or not the letter is printed.

Errata Submitter
Corrigenda lecta
Issued when — the operator lodges a correction to a module, dispatch, or published figure that is accepted into a later edition.

The Registry keeps an errata sheet; each accepted correction is set in small type beside the original and attributed by handle if permission is given.

Module Author
De sua manu
Issued when — the operator's contributed module is accepted into the Registry and typeset in the next volume.

The Registry is open to submission. Contributed modules are reviewed by the faculty, not the machinery; the bar is correspondence, not novelty.

IV.Honorific — Class Marks of the Curator§ 4.0 · 3 PLATES · PENTAGONAL SEALSCuratorial. Awarded only at the discretion of the faculty and only in small numbers. The Academy is sparing with these; a volume might issue two across the year.
PLATE Nº 014
HONORIFIC · HONORIFIC
Volume I Typesetter
Ex officina prima
Issued when — the faculty so determines; awarded once to each operator named in the colophon of Volume I.

The inaugural mark; it will not be re-issued. Volume II will have its own, and Volume III after that, each terminated on the printing of the last page.

HONORIFIC · HONORIFIC
Emeritus
Honoris causa, retired
Issued when — an operator elects to retire from the season and requests the Registry preserve their entry in the Hall of Fame.

Unrequested and unrequited. The retired entry is held fixed; no further attestations modify it. A short italic footnote by the curator accompanies each.

Faculty Attestation

Issued when — a member of the faculty countersigns an operator's dispatch by hand.

The rarest entry in the catalogue. A faculty countersignature is not a grade; it is a note of personal interest in the operator's work, offered without ceremony.
